Above the Guest Residence on the south side of the Brook is the The Orchard.
The Calais Region was once famous throughout Atlantica for the Apple Trees that
abound on the property.
The Seure DuMont Brook narrows in high summer as it rolls across the combined
properties from Devil's Head to the Tidal Pool and the Saint Croix. Brown Trout
work their way up the stream and fill the shallows near the river. It's easy fishing
throughout the season.
Above is the well-worn footpath through the pine groves to the waterfront cabin
tucked away in the woods. It's always ten degrees cooler down by the river with a
fresh breeze that blows across the water from Canada.
